The walk
begins at Victoria Station (Circle/District /Victoria or
mainline) and finishes at Battersea Bridge from where bus
239 returns to Victoria. Travelcard zones 1/2 |
Battersea was an old riverside settlement which became a fashionable suburb in the 18th century. Battersea Fields, a marshy area with hundreds of individual farm plots, was transformed into a popular park in the mid 19th century. |

This walk is up to 6½ miles pavement walking and mainly paths within the park | This walk explores the many features of Battersea Park. Lottery and other funding has enabled Festival of Britain and other areas to be restored. A number of buildings of interest remain in Old Battersea along with a fine church. | [Route & what to see] |
