BRIXTON WINDMILL Blenheim Gardens SW2 5ET
Built in 1816 when Brixton Hill was open fields. It was leased the following year by John Ashby producing stoneground wholemeal flour. The Ashby family operated the mill, which became known as Ashby's Mill, for the whole of its working life. It fell into disuse in the early 20th century but has now been restored.
